The boat
Freya is a 6.7 m cabin sailboat that is genuinely equipped for multi-day and week-long cruising.
I have sailed her on several multi-day and week-long trips, including repeated crossings of the Kvarner Gulf. She is easy to handle on my own and comfortable for two — which is also what makes her a sensible first boat: simple enough to learn and to maintain, but already proven in real Adriatic use.
Until 2026 she sailed fresh water only. She was refitted for salt water before that season and has a full Adriatic season behind her since — long enough to have found anything that needed finding, and short enough that there is no history of salt corrosion to inherit.
Small enough to keep ownership simple and running costs low, capable enough for real coastal cruising.
Why Freya
At 6.7 m the running costs stay modest. A small berth is cheaper and easier to find — in crowded marinas a boat this size is often accepted when larger ones are turned away. Haul-out costs less, there is less hull to antifoul, and replacement sails and lines are smaller and cheaper. The fixed ballasted keel has no centreboard mechanism to maintain.
Less load in the lines and sails, simple manoeuvring and no need for extra crew. I have done several multi-day and week-long solo trips on her, and she is equally comfortable sailed by two.
She is already in Opatija. There is no boat to move across Europe before your first season, and no transport bill before you have even sailed. Opatija is a practical northern Adriatic base for Kvarner, Krk and Cres, with plenty of short hops and sheltered bays. Kvarner can be demanding in a bora, and she is sailed with respect for the weather and for the limits of a 6.7 m boat.
She came to salt water only in 2026, refitted for it, with a full season since — proven here, but without decades of salt behind her.
New engine in 2026. New LiFePO4 battery. Bottom renovated in 2024 and fresh antifouling in spring 2026. Technical inspection passed and the certificate valid until 2031.
You are buying a usable cruiser, not a restoration project — with the normal cosmetic wear you would expect from a 1999 boat.

Specifications
The keel is hollow, with a removable ballast fill of roughly 250 kg of lead and 50 kg of gravel. That makes keel inspection straightforward and reduces the towing weight if you ever move her by road.
Engine
Bought new in 2026 — the single biggest thing you do not have to worry about.
The 6 hp Tohatsu is more than sufficient for a boat this size. As an outboard it is also easy to reach for routine service, and it keeps the whole propulsion installation simple — one unit, accessible, with nothing buried in the hull.
A 2-stroke Eurocraft backup outboard is included with the boat.
Recent refit & maintenance
Old layers were taken back to a sound base and the bottom rebuilt.
Osculati SP Premium 365 with two-component primer.
Gelcoat repairs, window resealing, roller-furler service, sail repairs, inspection and replacement of lines and fasteners where needed, and work on the motor bracket.
New Slovak boat certificate, valid until 30 March 2031.
Until then she had sailed fresh water only. The 2026 refit prepared her for salt, and she has completed a full Adriatic season since.
Off-grid
Life on board
One person or two can genuinely live aboard her for days or weeks at a time. She is not a luxury yacht and does not pretend to be — but the basics that make a small boat liveable are all there and all working.
Sails & rigging
Mast raising and lowering system included. It is the kind of equipment you only appreciate once you need it: stepping the mast for servicing, for road transport or for winter storage becomes a manageable job instead of a yard booking.

Location
She is in the water and ready to sail. Viewing is possible on site and a sea trial can be arranged.
Buying a boat that is already on the Adriatic removes the part most buyers underestimate: finding a boat in central Europe, arranging road transport, craning and launching before the first season. Opatija sits at the top of the Kvarner Gulf, within easy reach of Krk, Cres and a long list of sheltered bays.
Possible continuation of the current berth may be discussed with Marina Admiral, subject to the marina’s approval.

1,600 kg maximum permissible weight. New wiring, lights, jockey wheel and coupling head since purchase; bearings, tyres and paint renewed in 2026.
Current technical-inspection status to be confirmed or renewed before sale.

230 × 130 cm. Inflated once, never used at sea.
Honest condition
She is a 1999 boat and looks like one in places. There are cosmetic imperfections consistent with her age, and a few fittings and joints that are worth resealing — I had that on my own list.
The keel is hollow and collects a small amount of water. There is a dedicated tube for pumping it out, which in practice means doing it once every few months.
Her salt-water history is short and deliberate: fresh water until 2026, a refit for salt before that season, one full Adriatic season since. That cuts both ways and you should weigh it yourself — one season of salt-water use, but no decades of it either.
